Areas of applications

Through energy storage units and the application of renewable energy, it will be possible in the long term to substitute all polluters with new technologies. We can immediately achieve an 80% reduction of CO2 emissions through the application of energy storage units.

Passenger Cars / Electrical vehicles

The automobile assures us the mobility which, over the last 50 years, has essentially contributed to the development of our society and to the quality of life. Thousands of jobs are connected to automobile manufacturing. Individual mobility will also be of extreme importance for future generations.

Because global warming has forced us to modify the automobile, as it is one of the causes of the increase in CO2 emissions, it will, in the future, lose its status as a CO2 polluter without hampering our mobility.

The development of appropriate energy storage units will makes this possible. Examples of new electrical vehicles (Telsa, Lightning, GT etc.) have recently been named by the press. They report that lithium batteries are being applied. However, it is one thing to construct a large battery from thousands of small cells (18,650). It simply doesn’t make much sense.  Therefore we speak of energy storage units.

For application in passenger cars, or even in trucks, energy packages must be developed, which:

  1. guarantee maximum safety and a long lifespan

  2. guarantee a driving range which we are used to with our current automobiles

  3. guarantee that the weight distribution of the packages in future cars and trucks will be optimally placed.

In other words, electrical vehicles of the future require further development, which is impossible for the automobile industry to accomplish overnight. Electric motors will certainly shortly be tested on the market. Even the application of electrical motors, like hub motors, must be tested.

It is certainly difficult for the automobile industry, which, in the last nine years, has invested immense amounts of money in the development of combustion motors, to find the right path. However, worsening global warming situation is forcing us to make developments faster than we normally.

Of course this development must also occur alongside the development of drive system for trucks. CO2 emissions and the percentage of air pollution due to diesel exhaust gasses haven't yet been discussed. Basically, truck drive systems are than the drive systems of passenger cars to convert to electric motors.

But one thing is certain: the conversion to an electrical drive system will yield enormous savings for consumers because they will no longer be reliant upon gas or diesel fuel. The sun delivers energy, which guarantees a gratis range of 400-500 km, without taxes and charges. The side effects are enormous as well: CO2, particle pollution, etc, will be eradicated from our cities.

With the help of our different cost calculators, one can see what the financial effects of this conversion could be.

Naturally, the general introduction of electrical vehicles will have a development similar to the experience we had with the introduction of catalysers. Not until the lead-free gas was available throughout Europe, did all manufacturers start to install catalysers.

This will also apply for the introduction of electrical vehicles: Not until the charging time complies with the time of filling a tank with gas and these is possible on all gas stations around Europe, the current mobility is assured and we can enjoy car driving again. With the energy storages of ORGON is all this achievable right now.

Hybrid-vehicles

ORGON is convinced that hybrid-vehicles will not make a contribution to the fight against the global warming. At best they will relieve the cities of more air pollution, but subsequently, they will have to bear the weight of both the hybrid and the combustion motors.

Plug in

A very popular phrase today, "plug in" used to indicate that the power comes out of the plug. Apart from that, our power lines would break down, if, for example, a thousand vehicles would be simultaneously charged at, usual mobility would not be guaranteed. With charging times of about 8 hours and more, mobility would be very limited. Most normal plugs are protected with 15 A.  The exceptions are those protected with 32 A. This means, that a compact car with 25 Ah would have a charging time over two hours.

Charging by means of appropriate energy storage units would last between 10 and 20 minutes, depending on future habits and requirements.

Naturally, this form of charging will be necessary by the time infrastructure construction begins.

Solar power - Photovoltaik

Generating electricity with photovoltaic facilities

With the appropriate design, solar energy can already cover the most of the requirements of private households by employing energy storage units today. Unfortunately, the solar plants costs have increased mostly due to EEG laws. However, appropriate development will occur.

With the aid of our cost calculators you can calculate your needs-cost savings.

Wind power

Wind energy will become one of the most important sources of our energy supply. With appropriate storage, assimilation of power lines can be controlled and the deviation from future prospects can be regulated, which will enable energy to be calculated.

Of course it does not make sense, for example to transfer automobile CO2 emissions from the streets to coal-fired power stations. Thus, 100% of the energy required to preserve our mobility must be generated from renewable energy. This is already feasible with appropriate storage units today.

Industrial sector

Through energy storage units, the industry can cover current fluctuations, as well as breakdowns, and guarantee power supplies at a low-cost.

Power plants

In the medium-term we will still have to depend on fossil fuels.

The base-load power stations, when it is not necessary to regulate them during the course of the day, are more beneficial, due to its environmental impact, than peak load systems. Therefore, the application of energy storage units is short-term solution to decreasing CO2 emissions.

The costs

With all considerations of the current discussions, things that endanger the planet, are not transferred to the polluter. Surprisingly, damages from nuclear power are not even mentioned.

It is our belief that the fight against the global warming, in the long-term will not cost humankind anything.  On the contrary, it will result in enormous cost savings.
